Our Story
Partition Systems, Inc. was founded in 1979 by C.H. Mars. Mr. Mars originally intended to be a supplier and installer of metal office partitions, but throughout the years, Partition Systems has become much broader in scope, and has become more heavily involved in the installation of systems furniture, along with the installation and relocation of demountable partition systems.
In June 1999, Charles J. Friedl took over as CEO and majority stockholder of Partition Systems when Mr. Mars retired. Mr. Friedl has been employed by Partition System Inc. since 1985, starting as an installer,. He has moved through the ranks as crew foreman, general foreman, Vice President, and President and owner until his retirement in January 2019.
Chuck's son, Scott, has now earned the title of President. Scott enlisted in the Air Force in 1998 and spent 4 years as an Airmen. When he was honorably discharged, Scott started his career with PSI in 2002 as an apprentice, and has worked his way through the company as a journeyman, crew foreman, and Vice President to learn the trade just as his father had done decades before. He also served as the company Steward while working in the field. Scott resides in Allison Park, with his wife and 2 daughters.
Partition Systems, Inc. employs only union carpenters, all of whom are skilled, trained and certified in the installation of all types of office furniture and walls. We strive to continue our awareness of environmental policies in the construction industry, and continue our experience with Green Buildings, which includes PNC Bank and Medrad.
